Audio/Visual Technology and Film

This class introduces students to the world of film and TV, from writing and filming to editing their own projects in Adobe Premiere Pro. Students will make short films, learn how real productions work, and start building the skills to tell stories that matter.

These co-seated advanced courses are responsible for producing Good Morning Marietta. Students operate in a professional production environment where initiative, accountability, and communication are key. Every day involves writing, filming, editing, and problem-solving as part of a real-world newsroom and control room team. Student leadership drives the show, with the instructor serving primarily as a supervisor and broadcast engineer. Those who fully commit to the process earn opportunities to take their skills beyond the classroom and into real productions.

This invitation-only class takes students’ skills to the next level with big projects that impact our school and community. Students work on live events, short films, and even local business commercials.

This key extension of our film program gives students the chance to compete in a variety of regional, state, and national events across video and film production categories. These competitions challenge students to apply classroom learning in real-world, high-pressure environments. Our teams consistently rise to the top, earning multiple state championships. SkillsUSA builds confidence, professionalism, and teamwork, preparing students for both college and career success in the media industry.
