Architecture Drawing and Design

Students learn how to create basic architectural drawings, use computer-aided design software, collaborate on a team project to solve an architectural challenge, and explore careers in architecture, construction, and engineering.

Students deepen their understanding of the elements of art and design, sustainability, and architectural styles. In addition, students participate in an architectural design competition that challenges them to integrate creativity, technical skill, and innovation.

Students explore engineering aspects of the building design process, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, while refining their technical and design skills through advanced projects and competitions that emphasize creativity, problem-solving, and professional practice.

After completing the three-year Architecture Pathway, students may undertake an optional Capstone project. They select an architecture-related topic, conduct research, collaborate with a mentor, and complete a design project that culminates in a professional presentation to industry professionals.
