MHS Theatre provides opportunities for students to participate in a wide range of theatre arts classes and theatrical productions. We are committed to showcasing student talent thus providing students the opportunity to perform and learn about multiple facets of theatre. Students will explore areas such as Musical Theatre, Technical Theatre, Advanced Drama, Acting, and International Baccalaureate Theatre. In an effort to support the arts and bring them to as wide an audience as possible, we strive to develop professional level theatrical opportunities for both our students and the larger Marietta community. Through these experiences, students will gain the power to impact and inspire others through their craft.

The MHS Visual Arts Department provides a diverse arts education for all students. Students begin with an introductory course that covers art-making skills and knowledge that will provide a strong foundation for the advanced studio classes that we offer. Our studio classes highlight the mediums of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture/Ceramics. Students considering a career in the visual arts can push their skills further in AP Drawing, AP 2D Design and AP 3D Design.
Exceptional student artwork is put on display twice annually during our Fall and Spring Juried Art Shows sponsored by the Marietta Business Association and Art in the Park. Students are awarded prizes in the categories of Drawing, Painting, Sculpture and Alternative Media. The “Best in Show” winners are put on permanent display in the Emerging Artist Galleries of the Marietta Performing Arts Center.
We strive to not only provide students with the skills needed to create art, but also an appreciation of art and a desire to be artistic.
