News Anchor Guest Speaker - MHS Senior Assembly, Sept. 9
 Linda Stouffer, news anchor at Channel 2 Action News addressed Marietta High School (MHS) seniors at the school’s Senior assembly. She encouraged the 2010 graduating class to work hard, and to use their own judgment regarding the validity of news information. Stouffer also met with film class students and MHS Film teacher, Brandon Andrews. Stouffer comes to WSB-TV from the CNN Networks, where she worked for 12 years. Students Reach Out To Peru, July 23-31  Two Marietta High School students, Melissa Leming and Morgan Raines volunteered in Peru during summer break, as part of an adult mission team from Marietta First United Methodist Church. They worked on a water purifying system, volunteered at the local Hospice, hosted a village to village soccer tournament, and a jersey exchange with donated MHS soccer jerseys. |
High School Air Force Junior ROTC Cadets Earn Officer Leadership School Awards  For the first time in the 13-year history of the Cadet Summer Leadership School at Converse College, two cadets from the same school captured the school’s top two awards— Marietta High School (MHS) Air Force Junior ROTC (AFJROTC) cadets Cristian Coronado and Kelly Ryan earned the Basic Cadet Distinguished Graduates Awards, and top performer awards for Academics, Physical Fitness, Drill, Personal Inspection and Room Inspection. MHS Student Earns UGA Marching Band Camp Awards, June 17
Marietta High School (MHS) band student, Drum Major Edwin Catano received the Best Singles Conducting Award at the UGA Marching Band Camp. MHS band student Randy Burke also attended the UGA Marching Band Camp from June 13 to June 17, 2010. MHS Students Receive National Band Association Award, June 7-11 Marietta Middle School and Marietta High School Marching Band students: Shanna Mattson, Erika Seiber, and Patrick Dickerson, recently participated in the Cobb Symphony Orchestra/Kennesaw State University Summer Music Clinic. Erika Seiber and Patrick Dickerson were among six award recipients, out of 82 clinic participants, to receive the National Band Association "Outstanding Music Camper Award" in Recognition of Performance and Leadership. MHS Boys Track Wins Region 5AAAAA Title, May 5 The Marietta High School (MHS) Blue Devils track team won the team title for the 3rd consecutive year at the Region 5AAAAA boys track and field championships Wednesday at McEachern. The Blue Devils earned the victory with 152 points, and placed 2nd and 3rd in the field events in both the triple jump and shot put.
